Nutgrass is literally known as "aromatic attachment" and this translation describes the highly scented plant perfectly. The herb, known as motha in Hindi, is also used in Ayurvedic medicine as a remedy for heatstroke and stomach problems. Nutgrass is used with Bupleurum falcatum for chest pain and distension associated with liver problems and with Grey atractylodes for indigestion, abdominal pain, and nausea.
